Planning to Learn
Your eighth grade teachers welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year!
Proper organization will help you on your path to greater confidence, a better school year, and more time for the things you like to do. In order to experience a solid beginning to your eighth grade year, you will need the following materials for the first week of school.
- One (1) three ring binders (2 inch)
- A supply of lined paper
- One 5 pack of dividers for binder
- 3 subject notebook
- One Texas Instruments scientific calculator (TI30XIIS is recommended)* (Can use calculator from Grades 6 & 7)
- A supply of blue or black pens
- A supply of pencils
- A supply of highlighters
- One (1) set of colored pencils
- 2 packs of post-its (standard size)
- One (1) Pocket Folder
- A supply of graph paper
- Earbuds (to use with laptop)
- One marble composition book
- A valid River Vale public library card
*All Algebra students will be encouraged to use a graphing calculator. While this is not a requirement, it is highly recommended.
Physical Education Requirements:
Shirt - plain white or grey T-shirt
Athletic shorts or sweatpants (no jeans or khaki shorts)
(Shirt and shorts/sweatpants may be ordered through the River Vale PTA)
Footwear – Athletic sneakers with good supports are recommended, sneakers must have laces, and students must wear socks
Band Student Requirements:
Instrument in good working order, proper accessories (i.e. reeds, valve oil, guitar picks, sticks, etc.) and a box of pencils.
Please note that items on the supply list may be ordered through the PTA if you wish.
